Experience European politics

To a Pączki to Warsaw

Political insights and tourist highlights - experience a virtual visit to Warsaw on the occasion of the Polish EU Council Presidency!

Warsaw, the vibrant capital of Poland, is not only a cultural centre, but also an important site of European history and politics. Join us on a virtual tour of the city, guided by Andreas Christ and Marzenna Guz-Vetter, former Head of the European Commission Representation in Poland. She is a member of the European Commission's EUROPE Direct speaker pool.

Discover the city on the Vistula with its diverse architecture - from Gothic churches and classicist palaces to modern skyscrapers. Rebuilt after the Second World War, Warsaw's Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the centre: the market square with cafés and the statue of the Warsaw Mermaid, the symbol of the city. Find out more about the Polish EU Council Presidency. Poland will be at the centre of European politics for six months and will drive forward important issues such as strengthening European security, supporting Ukraine and protecting EU values.

In addition to the political and cultural highlights, you can also enjoy culinary delights such as traditional Polish pastries Pączki. Ge filled with rosehip jam, vanilla pudding or chocolate, it resembles a doughnut or doughnut.
