Making the Danube Region and Europe a true experience
10 days - 10 countries - a unique festival

The International Danube Festival

10 COUNTRIES - 10 DAYS - 1 FESTIVAL

Every two years, the Danube Office Ulm/Neu-Ulm invites you to the International Danube Festival. For ten days, both banks of the Danube are bustling with activity when international artists and guests from all countries along the Danube come together at the festival of encounters. The international cultural programme offers a sophisticated mix of different artistic genres - whether music, dance, literature or exhibitions, the Danube countries present themselves with their cultural ambassadors. At the last International Danube Festival, there were around 170 individual events, which were enjoyed by more than 350,000 visitors.

The centrepiece is the Market of the Danube Countries. It reflects the basic idea of the International Danube Festival to convey the diversity of cultures, forms of music and dance as well as lifestyles along the Danube. Here, visitors experience valuable handicrafts, authentic and contemporary music as well as culinary specialities from the different countries and regions. A colourful family programme delights young and old. But the festival does not only take place on the stages or at the market - in numerous encounter projects, for example the International Youth Camp, new friendships are made and space for exchange is created.

The International Danube Festival is a showcase for the international Danube partnership and cultural encounter and sees itself as a lighthouse event of the Danube Office Ulm/Neu-Ulm. The focus is on unity in diversity, the idea of cultural cooperation in Europe and strengthening cohesion in the Danube region.

Thank you to all visitors and all those actively involved in making the last edition a wonderful festival.

The next International Danube Festival is from 3 to 12 July 2026.
