School meets Danube - Meeting Point Europe

Workshop and networking event for teachers

We cordially invite teachers from the region at all types of schools from year 10 onwards to the workshop and networking event "School meets Danube - Meeting Point Europe". At this event, schools will get to know their local contacts on the topics of Europe and the Danube: The Danube Swabian Central Museum, the Cultural Officer for the Danube Region and the Europe Direct Centre at the Danube Office Ulm/Neu-Ulm. The aim of the event is to provide an insight into the comprehensive programmes offered by the three institutions and to enter into an open exchange with you as teachers on European policy education work.

The topic of Europe is an integral part of the curriculum in subjects such as civics, social studies, history and geography. At the same time, European policy education is a great challenge: Which methods and formats are suitable for teaching the complex topic of Europe? Where can suitable and up-to-date material be found? Which extracurricular offers around the topics of Europe and the Danube can complement the lessons?

In addition to a workshop on migration in the Danube region, participants can look forward to activity stations where they can gain a lot of knowledge and insights. The knowledge gained and the methods used can also be implemented in everyday school life. In addition, interesting offers, materials and projects from the Danube countries and the European Union will be presented.

For organisational reasons, please register by 19.03.2025. All you need to do is send an informal e-mail to europedirectulm@donaubuero.de or swantje.volkmann@dzm-museum.de.
