Experience European politics

Hanging out with Soutzoukos in Cyprus

A tour of the city, past historic facades, cosy cafés and lively markets that invite you to take a stroll. There is plenty to discover in Nicosia, Europe's last divided capital - from culture and history to current political issues.

Fancy a city trip - from the comfort of your own home?

The EUROPE DIRECT Centres Saarbrücken, Karlsruhe and Ulm cordially invite you to a digital city tour of Cyprus' capital. Together we will not only explore tourist highlights, but also learn more about Cyprus' role in and relationship with the EU. Because: Cyprus currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and is thus actively shaping the EU's political agenda in the first half of 2026. What moves the country - domestically and at European level? Which issues are in focus? What are the prospects for Europe's last divided capital?

Our Cyprus expert:

Prof Dr Hubert Faustmann, Professor of History and International Relations at the University of Nicosia and Head of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung office in Cyprus, will take you on an exciting tour of the city - with personal insights, historical background and current developments.

We look forward to your participation!
